Speakers:

Dr Ehsan Abbasnejad
Director of Responsible AI at AIML

Dr. Ehsan Abbasnejad is a Senior Lecturer (Assoc. Prof.) and a Future Making Fellow at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), University of Adelaide. He is also a Principal Researcher at the Centre for Augmented Reasoning (CAR) at the University of Adelaide. He was awarded his PhD degree in 2017 in Computer Science from the Australian National University (ANU). He has extensive experience in deep learning for a range of applications of machine vision and language in agriculture, mining, defense, etc. He has led multiple projects and won multiple international awards. For instance, as a founding member and a co-lead of DeepSightX, he won the second prize in the global mineral discovery challenge in 2019. His past experience in industry research includes companies such as Microsoft Research, Xerox  Research and NEC Labs America. 

Matthew Cliff
AIML Business Development Manager

Matt recently joined AIML after spending the last decade helping innovative companies access funding through grants and incentives. 
Matt has previously worked for the Federal Government at AusIndustry and spent a number of years in banking and finance. 
Matt is passionate about helping innovative companies and enjoys learning about new technologies and how they can be applied to improve our way of life.
