The event will provide an exceptional opportunity for members to hear from and engage with one of NSW’s foremost industry thought leaders and a mining executive with a wealth of strategic and operational experience.
Providing a unique perspective from his role as Chair of Low Emissions Technology Australia (LETA), John will lead a discussion about how the industry can leverage our position to contribute to a sustainable future by investing in research and development of low emissions technologies. He will overview a range of projects and technologies being considered by LETA and explore the opportunities available for mining and METS organisations through energy diversification.

Chariman of The Bloomfield Group
John Richards is Chairman of The Bloomfield Group. He commenced with Bloomfield in 2002 and was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in 2010, prior to his appointment as Chairman in 2016.
The Bloomfield Group is a proud and successful Australian mining and engineering group. Bloomfield has been part of the Hunter for more than 85 years and employs hundreds of local people. It operates two open-cut coalmines - Rix’s Creek Mine northwest of Singleton and Bloomfield Mine east of Maitland - in addition to an engineering business.
In addition to his role as the current Chair of Low Emissions Technology Australia (LETA), Mr Richards is a member of the Coal Forum of the Minerals Council of Australia, the Institute of Company Directors and the Newcastle Institute of Energy and Resources Advisory Board.
Mr Richards is a former Director of Port Waratah Coal Services, former Chair of the NSW Minerals Council and former member of Coal Innovation NSW.
Austmine’s CEO Leadership Luncheons are member-only events limited to one person per member company of a senior executive level.
