Sean Taylor, Managing Director & CEO, Komatsu Australia

Sean Taylor has over 30 years in the earthmoving industry and has been the Managing Director and CEO of Komatsu Australia Holdings and Komatsu Australia since 2011.

Komatsu Australia comprises 3,500 employees across Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Indonesia. Sean is a Global Officer of Komatsu Limited, a public company of approx. 70,000 employees registered on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He is also a Director of Komatsu Forklift Australia, Mineware Pty Ltd and Immersive Technologies.

Kari Armitage, Managing Director, Quarry Mining 

Kari took over running Quarry Mining in 2006 and under her leadership, the company has become a leading Australian manufacturer, employing more than seventy tradesmen, technical representatives and engineers with operations and support staff across factories, workshops and offices in Newcastle, Sydney, Mackay, Melbourne and China. 

Over the past ten years Quarry Mining has secured supply contracts with leading the coal houses in New South Wales and Queensland and has a growing export business.

Kari is passionate about Australian manufacturing, new technologies, research, design, testing and development, keeping our jobs local and ensuring the future of Australia’s manufacturing industry. 


Warwick Sommer, Executive General Manager - Innovation & Service, Ampcontrol

Warwick Sommer is the Executive General Manager – Innovation & Service for Ampcontrol, one of Australia’s largest and most successful electrical engineering and manufacturing companies operating across 30 sites worldwide.

Joining Ampcontrol in 2017, Warwick brings more than 20 years of operational and strategic leadership in the legal, commercial, logistics and manufacturing sectors.

Responsible for strategic development and growth, Warwick oversees the global functions of innovation, research and development, procurement, business improvement and service delivery for the Ampcontrol Group of Companies, including six member companies and over 1000 employees.
