Speaker Details:

Ryan Austerberry
General Manager, Mandalay Resources 

Ryan Austerberry has over 15 years of experience in the resource industry with a background in Mining Engineering, predominantly undertaking technical roles and operations management. Ryan has had comprehensive technical roles and operations management through a variety of mining engineering roles into project work. 
Ryan has been with Mandalay Resources Corporation (TSX:MDN) (‘Mandalay’) for most of his career, he is the current General Manager of Operations at Costerfield in Victoria and previously was General Manager of Björkdal in Sweden. Ryan has previously assisted with developing Cerro Bayo and has operational knowledge of the Cerro Bayo Mine in Chile. 
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mining from the University of Ballarat, and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business. Ryan is a Chartered Professional in Mining with the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM). In late 2021, Ryan completed the Company Directors through AICD and in early 2022, became a Non-Executive Director of Equus Mining.  

 

Martin Sonogan BEng(Civil), MEng(Civil), GradDipEng(Mining), MMinEng(Mgmt), MEcon, GradCertFin
Principal Mining Engineer – Transformation & Effectiveness, Evolution Mining
Martin Sonogan has over 15 years of experience as a professional engineer working in Australia and abroad.  He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Ballarat and further postgraduate degrees in Civil Engineering, Mine Engineering, Management, Economics and Finance. 
Martin is the Group Principal Mining Engineer in Evolution Mining’s Transformation & Effectiveness team.   He is involved with several working groups within Evolution Mining seeking to decarbonise operations and also leads the Electric Mine Consortium surface haulage stream.

 


Larry Stewart
Manager, Policy & Research, Minerals Council of Australia – Victoria 

BSc (Hons) Geology from Monash University, MBA from Melbourne University
Larry has 15 years’ experience as an exploration geologist with BHP comprising roles in North Australia, Peru and Chile. He has 11 years’ experience as a project generation and assessment geologist with MMG in Australia, North and South America and Africa, and several more business development roles with ANSTO, GSV and now Minerals Council of Australia. 




Nik Gresshoff, Head of Mining, Australia, ABB (Moderator)
Nik Gresshoff, in his role as Head of Mining for ABB's Process Industries division, leads a talented and enthusiastic team of sales and service professionals. A group dedicated to applying ABB's industry-specific integrated automation, electrification and digital solutions to enhance our customers' performance across the mining and minerals, metals, aluminium, pulp and paper, and cement segments.

Nik has a wealth of industry experience utilising the latest automation and mechanical technologies, along with a proven track record of improving business performance across global markets including Europe, Africa, East Asia, China, Japan and Australia. His industry experience spans mining, oil & gas, utilities and general manufacturing.
